Cold Drawn Flat Steel
Precision bright flat bar in 20×3–200×40 mm — tight tolerance, clean edges, straightness for guide and structural applications.
Cold drawn flat steel is manufactured by drawing hot rolled flat bar through precision dies, producing a bright, oxide-free surface with tight thickness tolerance, well-defined edges and excellent straightness. The cold drawing process also improves dimensional consistency along the full length, which reduces machining and straightening work for downstream processing.
Suzhou Zhenfu Cold-Drawn Steel Co., Ltd. produces cold drawn flat steel from 20×3 mm to 200×40 mm in carbon and low-alloy grades, with custom widths, thicknesses, cut lengths and tolerances available. Our factory-direct supply chain — from leading steel mills through in-house drawing, annealing, straightening and inspection — ensures stable quality for structural, guide and tooling applications, backed by over 18 years of manufacturing experience.

Available Grades
Common grades include Q235, 45#, Q355/Q355D and 40Cr, supplied to GB standards with comparable JIS, EN and ASTM equivalents. For brackets and structural parts choose Q235; for machine parts and tooling 45#; for high-strength or low-temperature service, Q355D is available.
Full grade comparison tables (GB ↔ JIS ↔ EN ↔ ASTM) are available on the product detail page.
Applications
Cold drawn flat steel is widely used for guide rails, elevator guide rails, brackets, structural members, machine tooling, tools, keys and precision industrial assemblies. Typical end-use industries include:
Elevator manufacturing — guide rail flat steel with tight tolerance and excellent straightness
Machine tools — guide components, tooling and fixture parts
Construction machinery — brackets, structural members and reinforcement parts
General hardware and textile machinery — keys, tools and precision assemblies
Why Choose Cold Drawn Flat Steel
Bright, oxide-free surface — ready for assembly, plating or direct use
Precision straightening suits guide rail and linear applications
Well-defined edges reduce deburring and secondary work
Consistent thickness and hardness support repeatable production
Cold Drawn Flat Steel FAQ
Which flat steel grade should I choose for guide rails?
For guide rails and structural guidance, 45# provides the best combination of hardness, wear resistance and machinability; Q235 is the economical choice for lighter load-bearing brackets. Our engineers can confirm the right grade for your load and environment.
Do you supply flat steel for elevator guide rails?
Yes, we supply flat steel for elevator guide rail production with tight tolerance and excellent straightness. Send us your drawing and our engineers will confirm the specification.
Can you produce custom widths and thicknesses?
Yes, we produce custom section sizes within our drawing capability, with special tolerances on a production basis. Share your requirement and we will confirm feasibility and lead time.
What surface finish can you provide?
The standard cold drawn surface is bright and oxide-free. Polishing, grinding, chamfering and custom finishes are available on request for applications such as guide surfaces.
How do you pack flat steel for sea freight?
Five-layer rust-proof packaging suitable for 1–3 months of ocean transport, including anti-rust oil, kraft paper, stretch film, steel strapping and fumigated pallets, prevents rusting, oxidation and deformation during shipping.
